How it works

The Olababy silicone bowl anchors to smooth, flat surfaces through its suction base and stays in place until an adult releases it. The bowl stands 2.2 inches tall, and its high walls let a baby push food against the side and onto the spoon.

Serve in the bowl, then put the lid on to take leftovers to the fridge or the diaper bag, so one dish covers prep, serving and storage.

Why parents choose it

  • Holds 8 oz (240 ml) of scoopable food
  • 2.2 inch high walls for pushing food onto the spoon
  • Suction base anchors the bowl on a smooth tray until an adult lifts it
  • Lid fits the bowl for storage and travel

Who it is for

Good fit for
  • A self-feeder on scoopable food, tagged 6 to 12 months and 12 months and up.
  • A bowl that stays on a smooth high chair tray rather than being lifted and dropped.
  • Prep, serve and store in one dish, since a lid is included.
Not right for
  • Finger foods a child wants kept apart. The divided plate does that.
  • A baby who is still being fed from an adult held dish.
  • A textured, slatted or fabric surface, where a suction base cannot seal.

A suctioned bowl with steep sides gives beginning self-feeders a stable edge to scoop against, exactly what we set up in feeding sessions.

More about this one

Does the bowl's suction work on a high chair tray?

Yes, on a smooth one. The Olababy silicone bowl seals to smooth, flat surfaces such as a highchair tray and stays put until an adult releases it. Textured, slatted or fabric surfaces leave gaps the suction base cannot seal, so on those the bowl sits loose instead of holding.

Can I store leftovers in the bowl with the lid?

Yes. The Olababy silicone bowl comes with a lid that seals leftovers, so food served in the bowl can go to the fridge or into the diaper bag without moving it to another container. The bowl holds 8 oz (240 ml), and the same dish goes back on the tray for the next meal.

What is included

1 suction bowl and 1 lid.

How to clean it

Dishwasher safe (top rack).

Questions parents ask

What age is it made for?

Made for 6 to 12 months and 12 months and up.

What comes in the box?

1 suction bowl and 1 lid.

How do I clean it?

Dishwasher safe (top rack).

What is it made of?

100% high-purity food-grade silicone: BPA, PVC, lead, and phthalate free. Designed in Portland, Oregon.

How big is it?

It holds 8 oz (240 ml). It measures 4.57" dia x 2.2"H (116 x 56 mm). It weighs 7.9 oz (224 g).

More questions (6)

Is it okay that my baby chews on it?

Yes, mouthing and chewing are a normal part of learning to eat, and soft silicone is gentle on developing gums and teeth.

Do suction plates really stop spills?

They stop the biggest one: the whole plate hitting the floor. A full-perimeter suction base locks to smooth highchair trays and tables, so the plate resists toddler pull-offs, tips, and flips until a parent releases the tab. Food inside is not sealed, so expect normal learning mess, just not a launched plate.

Is this safe for my baby?

Yes. Olababy feeding products are made from 100% high-purity food-grade silicone with no fillers, free of BPA, PVC, lead, and phthalates, and tested to FDA food-contact standards.

How do I clean and sterilize it?

Silicone products are dishwasher safe (top rack) and can be sterilized in boiling water or a steam sterilizer. Air-dry fully before storing.

What if it does not work for us?

Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery (see our return policy for details). US shipping is free on orders over $49.

Why buy from olababy.us instead of a retailer?

Olababy.us is the official store and the only place with the complete lineup: every product, every colorway, replacement parts, and bundle pricing. Orders over $49 ship free in the US, returns are accepted for 30 days, and support comes directly from the Olababy team.

Why Olababy

Every feeding product is one material, food-grade silicone, soft enough for gums that are still teething and inert enough to go through a dishwasher for years. The panel above names what is in it and what is kept out of it.

Olababy has designed in Portland, Oregon since 2015, with parents testing the things their own children eat from.

    Great bowl

Has little details other suction bowls don’t. Firmer side, a spoon scraper, and good suction. The lids fit well and don’t easily fall off.

    Love Love

The Olababy bowls are outstanding. I bought 3 for my grandchildren. The food heats up well in the microwave. The lid fits perfectly over the bowl opening. Can’t say enough about the quality and the many ways to use these bowls.

    Lemon/ suction bowl

This bowl is perfect! Soft and sturdy. Such a good quality product. I had no issues with food/color from food staining the bowl. Baby loves it and it comes with a lid! Great buy.

    Perfect bowl for little ones

This bowl is fexible, but not flimsy. It has a good amount of suction to allow little ones to eat and not have it slide across the tray. Also prevents them from throwing it onto the floor. We love this product!

Super Durable and suction works great

Awesome bowl & the suction is amazing. I had bought a few bowls and quite honestly the suction wasn't there & inevitably meals were served to the dog (the pup didn't mind it!). This bowl actually suctioned to the packaging that's how wonderful it was. We use it both in the microwave to heat up cereal and in the freezer to cool down meals and it has held up very nicely. The little tab at the bottom of the bowl is an awesome feature to un-suction the bowl from the table. I didn't know a bowl could have so many hidden features. Only bowl I will ever use.

    STAIN RESISTANT!

The suction works perfectly and it’s easy to clean! I love the fact it comes with a lid for the times I make too much food to where both trays are completely filled and I can store the extra in a bowl, closed. Or when my baby doesn’t finish what I gave her. I could simply close it and put it in the fridge without wasting any paper, plastic wrap, or foil... The price may be a little high for what it is but it’s totally stain resistant. Which I love VS the set of silicone bowls I bought for cheap.

    Suctions well!

Suctions really well! I use the steam Ola bowl and like them both. Love that this one comes with a lid. I have only used a few times so far so can’t speak to durability.

    Great quality

I didn’t expect this bowl to be such great quality. It’s thick, a little on the heavier side which is a plus. My baby has tried to remove this from his high chair unsuccessfully :D Just wish there were more colors to choose from. I purchase in the color Lime.

Good suction. Lid for on the go!

Love this bowl! Suction doesn’t come off so he can start to scoop his own food without the bowl falling and him getting frustrated. Our son is 6 months and I foresee a lot of use in our future. I love that it has a lid so you can prep food ahead of time or pack for on the go. We got it in yellow and I love the pale color

Does baby led weaning help a baby learn when they are full?
