How it works
The Olababy suction bowl stays in place because its suction base anchors it to smooth surfaces such as high chair trays and tables until an adult releases it. High walls give a beginner something to push food against. The training spoon's leafy tip flexes to scoop from any angle, and the training fork's silicone prongs are firm enough to spear pasta, fruit or pancake pieces.
Why parents choose it
- Suction base anchors the bowl to a high chair tray between scoops
- High walls give beginner scoopers something to push food against
- Lid covers the bowl for leftovers in the fridge or diaper bag
- Training fork spears pasta, fruit and pancakes once scooping turns to stabbing
- Leafy training spoon stands upright between bites to keep its tip clean
Who it is for
- Good fit for
- A self-feeder who needs the bowl and the utensils at once: suction bowl with lid, training fork, training spoon.
- Scoopable meals at a high chair, tagged 6 to 12 months and 12 months and up.
- A parent who wants matching pieces rather than assembling a set over time.
- Not right for
- Separated finger foods. The plate bundle is the divided version.
- A baby still being spoon fed by an adult.
- Someone who already owns the bowl and only needs utensils.
A stable suction bowl plus utensils sized for toddler grasp is a complete, developmentally sensible place setting for independent feeding practice.
Why Olababy
Every feeding product is one material, food-grade silicone, soft enough for gums that are still teething and inert enough to go through a dishwasher for years. The panel above names what is in it and what is kept out of it.
Olababy has designed in Portland, Oregon since 2015, with parents testing the things their own children eat from.

More questions (7)
Is it okay that my baby chews on it?
Yes, mouthing and chewing are a normal part of learning to eat, and soft silicone is gentle on developing gums and teeth.
What utensils are best for baby led weaning?
Soft silicone utensils sized for baby hands work best for baby led weaning. Our leafy training spoon has a flexible tip that bends on contact and scoops from any angle, so an unrefined grasp still gets food to the mouth, and it stands upright so the tip never touches the table. For toddlers, the training fork’s firm-but-soft prongs genuinely hold pasta, fruit, and pancakes.
When can babies use a spoon?
Most babies are ready for spoon practice around 6 months, when solids begin. Early on, a long-handled feeding spoon lets you offer purees while baby watches and learns; as your baby starts grabbing for the spoon, a short training spoon with a boosted-grip handle supports self-feeding practice through the toddler years.
Is this safe for my baby?
Yes. Olababy feeding products are made from 100% high-purity food-grade silicone with no fillers, free of BPA, PVC, lead, and phthalates, and tested to FDA food-contact standards.
How do I clean and sterilize it?
Silicone products are dishwasher safe (top rack) and can be sterilized in boiling water or a steam sterilizer. Air-dry fully before storing.
What if it does not work for us?
Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery (see our return policy for details). US shipping is free on orders over $49.

Great set
Great first set for baby to hold himself. I see him growing into it as he continues to experiment with self feeding.

I wanted to love them…
Excited to see a cute, functional, quality material dish set for baby but was disappointed. Suction doesn’t consistently stick to high chair tray but does to the fridge shelf. It feels like it’s all about the angle at which it’s pulled. Baby was able to get it off unless it was stuck farther away, but at that point, she couldn’t easily reach the food inside. I wanted to love it, but probably won’t recommend and will end up putting them in with tub toys.
