6 Fun Fall Activities to Do with Your Baby

Fall is such a beautiful time of year: the leaves changing, a crispness in the air, the holidays coming just around the corner. The Autumn fills us all with a sense of renewal and rejuvenation, especially with children. In fact, with so many kid-friendly activities out there, it’s a perfect time to get out and enjoy it with your little ones. Here’s a perfect list of things you can do with your baby this fall.

Arts and Crafts

Fall is the time to get crafty! Try making a painting, collage, or any other art project with the pretty fallen leaves and sticks you find outside. You can also easily paint a little turkey with your fingers, with your baby’s footprint as the tail! As any parent can attest to, there’s nothing children quite like more, than making a bit of a mess.

Picking Apples

It’s a season of harvesting, so why not create your own? Take your babies to an apple orchard, for some fun time exploring and playing, and some quality time outdoors. Our little ones have a natural affinity to nature, and it’s a nice way to instill a love for fresh fruit. Go to an apple orchard and have you and your little one pick out apples. At the end, you can go buy a fresh homemade apple or pumpkin pie!

Little Pumpkins Love Big Pumpkins

We all remember the feeling of going to a pumpkin patch for the first time. These strange, enormous and orange objects captivate the imagination, and carving the pumpkin lets children really explore their creativity and imagination. Just be careful! Be sure to get child-safe carving tools.

Get Festive

When it comes to Halloween, it’s never too early to get into the spirit of things, so to speak.  Most of us have a very special place in our hearts for all things spooky and creepy-crawly when October rolls around. So do it up! Decorate your house with spider webs, Jack-O-Lanterns, and ghosts of all kinds. And decorating with baby gives another benefit – babies tend to not be afraid if they’re involved in the process of choosing and hanging decorations.

Plan a Fall Celebration

With so many recognizable Autumn symbols out there, why not plan a holiday party for your baby and all their friends. Get together with parents and plan a scavenger hunt, pumpkin carving contest, and put on little skits and plays with your kids. They’ll definitely have a blast.

Lights, Camera, Autumn!

There are so many time-honored Fall films out there. Great movies like, It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, Hocus Pocus, and Corpse Bride are just a few of them! Start a yearly tradition with your children, and they’ll carry it on, maybe even to their children.

Autumn is a time to get closer with family and friends, enjoy rich seasonal snacks and drinks (definitely our favorite part), give thanks, and reflect on the year that has been. Create some deeply-set, positive memories around the fall. One day, they’ll thank you for it.
