Family New Year's Resolutions

Resolutions aren’t limited to individuals, with the dawning of the New Year take time to reflect on what you want 2018 to hold for your little family. Your resolution list can be light-hearted, serious, or a little of both. Below are some ideas you may want to include in your family resolution list:

  1. Plan a family trip, to the mountains, the beach, or a new city, go somewhere you’ve always wanted to visit.
  2. Invest in a college savings account for baby’s future, commit to an investment amount and work towards it throughout the year.
  3. Visit long-distance relatives, especially those who have yet to meet baby.
  4. Share meals at the table together and not in front of the TV. Baby will enjoy eating with you and becoming a self-feeder with the help of the Olababy Training Spoon.
  5. Eat more veggies! As baby gets bigger they will be able to eat a wider variety of foods, make sure this includes plenty of vegetables. Mom and Dad could probably add a few more veggies to their plates as well.
  6. Read read read. Make a resolution to read to baby every night or most nights. It’s a great way to bond with baby and give them a head start in academic success.
  7. Print out family pictures. With the advent of technology, most photos of baby are stored in the cloud. Scrolling on a screen will never be as satisfying, so commit to printing out photos and creating family albums.

Hopefully making New Years resolutions for your family will excite you with all that 2018 has too offer. Here at Olababy, we wish you a happy new year and hope you accomplish all your resolutions and more!

Winter Activities With Baby

With winter’s dark cold days, it can be difficult to come up with a variety of fun activities to do with baby. If you are in need of a little inspiration, check out these ideas below.

Sledding

If you happen to live somewhere with snow, sledding is a great activity for any age. Even if baby isn’t big enough yet to head down the slope, they will enjoy being pulled around in a sled experiencing the winter wonderland for the first time.

Family Movie Night

Go all out for this night and build a fort to watch the movie from. Venture out and watch a movie no one has seen before. Make sure you have popcorn at the ready and settle in for a relaxing night.Christmas Light Stroll

Before the lights are taken down for the season make sure you take baby to stroll or drive through the neighborhoods in town that spare no expense in holiday cheer. The colorful lights will be sure to stimulate baby’s interest and bring a smile to their rosy cheeks.

Cotton Ball Crafts

With very minimal supplies you can create countless adorable winter crafts. Use a glue stick and some cotton balls to bring Frosty to life on a piece of construction paper. Don’t forget to add in some googly eyes, buttons, scarf, and hat. For a challenge try creating a penguin!

Ice Painting

Using frozen colored water let baby paint away, exploring colors and igniting their inner Picasso. Check out how to make these chilly yet safe ice paints here.

The days are beginning to get longer again, but winter is not nearly over. We hope you enjoy these activities with your little one(s) and that you keep your bundle of joy bundled up in these chilly winter months.
