The Importance of Home Cooked Meals

There comes a time to introduce your baby to solid food and with that comes a decision…will you start with store bought or homemade meals? While there are positives to doing both, we feel that in the world we live in today it’s even easier to make delicious food for your little one right at home. The memories you will make with your baby while cooking for them are also priceless. And you may even find that your little one is a bit of a natural in the kitchen. Here are just a few of the reasons why we love home cooked meals for the new class of solid food eaters.

  1. One of the many benefits of preparing homemade meals for you baby is ingredient/quality control. When you cook all the food your baby eats, you are in 100% control of the ingredients and the process. It is important to choose nutritious fruits and veggies and prepare
them so they retain their nutrients. Be sure to check out our blog post on the, Top 10 Most Nutritious Food for Babies, for a list of nutritious foods your baby will love.
  2. It creates the family routineof eating meals together. Eat meals as a family early in their lives so when that bundle of joy turns into a teenage bundle of angst, they’ll still want to eat with the family. Also, the more family dinners you have, the more stories there will be to tell (and we all love a good story).
  3. The amount of memories made while preparing meals as a family, as opposed to purchasing your meals is simply incomparable. Not only will you have the perfect kitchen helper (translation: mess maker), but cooking together will connect your family in a unique and special way. You’ll all be laughing, joking and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

By cooking meals for your baby when they first start eating solid food you will create a household culture of doing things together. After all, everyone knows the feeling of eating a meal cooked with love. Imagine every meal you prepare your child is a special reminder of the love you have for them.
