Fun Baby Shower Themes for Spring

Spring is a time for new beginnings, and for many moms, this time of year marks the home stretch in their pregnancy. There is a lot of planning that goes into creating a fun and eventful baby shower, and while you may already have ideas on gifts, games and food, picking a theme can be tricky. Whether it's a mom who loves bold and colorful events to those who would like a more minimalist approach, here are a few of our favorite theme ideas for this season.

Go for something floral

Spring is all about growth and somewhere we all notice that is in plants. Flowers are really blooming during this time, so why not incorporate them into your event? They are the perfect way to add beautiful colors and an enticing aroma to your baby shower. A great way to introduce the theme to guests is with the invitation. We love this floral invite from Minted, which allows you to customize your invite how you see fit. As for party decor, you can really go all out with this theme with options like these paper flowersfrom Etsy. These would work well hanging down or even can be used to make a flower wall photo area.

Gender-neutral: succulents

If the mom-to-be is keeping the gender of her baby a secret, a gender-neutral theme is a good way to go. As we mentioned before, plants are in full bloom this time of year, and succulents provide a great way to go with a neutral color palette while still providing that spring vibe. You will want to include a lot of different shades of green in your shower decor. These cactus tea lights would be super cute to put on your dessert table. If you have time for some easy DIY, Design Improvised has a really easy guide on how to make a cactus out of balloons. Want to send your guests off with a gift to mark the day? These little succulent favors are super cute and can be customized to your event. The best part is that even if your guests don’t have a green thumb, these are super easy to care for.

Bumblebees for your little one to be

This is a theme that is sweet as can bee! As a classic, we have seen this done many times but it never gets old. Between the decor, party favors, and fun food and drink options, the bumblebee theme is always a favorite. It’s tradition to have a guest book at a baby shower, but this theme has inspired some unique options for moms to remember who attended their special day. This Sweet as Can Bee guest book allows guests to sign a honeycomb and drop it into the frame! If you are trying to plan an activity around this theme, we love the idea of the mom of the hour asking fellow momma’s “what's all the buzz about?” This activity calls for moms to fill out little notes that give the mom to be a heads up on what to expect when her little one arrives.

Up up and away

It’s normal for parents to wish the best for their child and to express that the sky's the limit! This shower theme should include shades of light blues and an airy feel. If you are looking for decor to hang from the ceiling, try these hot air balloonsmixed in with some clouds. It will give your guests the sense that they are celebrating in the sky! We have also seen showers with a cotton candy machine so that their guests can be treated to some “cloud candy”. Continuing with the hot air balloon theme, have a cake made for the shower that includes balloon decor! Give your cake maker some inspo from Pinterest, we have seen some really creative options.

Welcome to the jungle

Another classic we love to see this season is a safari-themed shower. This one is always fun and can be considered gender-neutral. To pull off this theme, you will want your decor to include different shades of green, brown and tan, some plants/foliage, and of course, animals! Photo backdrops are always a great way to keep guests entertained, and this safari-themed balloon garland kit comes with everything you need to make a great photo opp. If you are putting together party favors or invitations, jungle stickers can help make these customized and really stand out for your guests.

Baby showers are a fun time for everyone, and while planning one can be daunting, picking the right theme will help make the process a lot smoother. These options above are some of our favorites for the season, so we hope this list will provide some inspiration for the mom to be in your life's big day.
